Writer’s block…the nemesis of marketers everywhere. Some days the words just flow and we are on top of the world, others it feels like we’ll never see the light.

Who knows why the creative juices aren’t flowing? Lack of sleep? Stress? Or maybe your topic just isn’t interesting to you and you can’t figure out the right angle to take.

There are plenty of tips and tricks to avoid writer’s block. Using these tips will help you write more creatively, but also to stay on track and avoid those long staring contests with a blank page.

Stay Positive: Keep your head up! It’s true that “there’s no such thing as a bad idea.” Well…maybe there are some ideas that you really shouldn’t pursue, but any little tangent could spark the fire. Don’t let yourself fall into negativity, shutting down the thought that just might work.

Collaborate: Two minds are better than one…and 5 minds are better than two! Surround yourself with strong thinkers who challenge and encourage you. These people, even if just having a casual conversation, could bring to light ideas that never occurred to you.

Use the Internet: Now…social media might be a great way to distract yourself from the task at hand, but it can also help you learn more about your subject. Research, more often than not, helps you expand your thinking and can expose a whole new topic for you to write about!
